I was curious to see if there was any events or members that on this site that dwell in the NC mountain areas

I've got a couple riding buddies out that way--it's beautiful, especially this time of year.  What part of western NC are you in?  Is Uwharrie west for you?

Next weekend is the Uwharrie rides.

Here's two late-season rides out west, unfortunately they're both on the same day, but there's some distance between them so pick which is closest:

• Sat 11/03/2007   Tour de Nantahala (the Smokies)—Bryson City, NC (30/60/100mi)
